Terms of Service
1. What AnkiStake does
AnkiStake is a self-accountability tool. When you sign up, you voluntarily authorize automatic charges to your credit card when you fail to complete your daily Anki reviews. You set the penalty amount yourself. You are fully aware of and consent to this mechanism.
2. Charges and refunds
All charges are triggered automatically based on data reported by the AnkiStake Anki addon. Charges are final. Refunds are issued only in cases of verified technical error on our side (e.g. double charging). To request a refund, contact ankistake.support@gmail.com within 7 days of the charge.
3. Charity payments
70% of every penalty charge is donated to your chosen charity. Donations are transferred manually on a monthly basis by the operator. AnkiStake is not a registered charity and does not provide tax receipts for these donations.
4. Pause and cancellation
You can pause your account or remove your credit card at any time through the dashboard. Pauses and card removals take effect the following day to prevent same-day abuse. During an active Lock In block, additional restrictions apply as described in the dashboard.
5. No guarantees
AnkiStake is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not responsible for missed charges due to card failures, server downtime, or addon errors.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by Austrian law. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Vienna, Austria.

Privacy Policy
1. Data we collect
We collect your email address, hashed password, timezone, penalty settings, and daily review reports from the Anki addon. We do not store your full credit card details — card data is handled entirely by Stripe.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate AnkiStake — to track your reviews, trigger charges, and display your dashboard. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (transactional emails).
3. Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe stores your card details securely under their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
4. Data retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion by emailing ankistake.support@gmail.com. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact ankistake.support@gmail.com.
6. Cookies
AnkiStake uses localStorage to store your User ID locally in your browser. No tracking cookies are used.
7. Analytics
This website uses Microsoft Clarity to analyze user behavior. No personally identifiable information is stored.
